$75K bond set for man accused of fondling girls while watching horror movies

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC)- A judge has set bond at $75,000 for the Johns Island man accused of fondling two girls while watching horror movies.

Dwayne Thompson, 44, of Bohicket Road, is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center after the Charleston County Sheriff's Office arrested him Thursday and charged him with committing a lewd act on a child under the age of 14 and simple possession of marijuana.

The investigation began earlier this year after a DSS worker called to report alleged abuse of two girls back in 2008.  According to the 14-year-old victim who came forward, she and her older sister were fondled by Thompson between January and June of 2008.

According to the victim, the fondlings would occur while Thompson was watching horror movies with the girls in bed.  The victim said Thompson would rub their privates.
