Clouds will give way to plenty of sunshine on Friday. Highs are headed back into the mid to upper 70s on an easterly breeze around 10-12mph. A few clouds return later this evening but it should be a great time to be outside as we head into the weekend.

Plenty of sunshine continues to beam down on the Lowcountry as we head toward the lunch hour. Temps are steadily rising and should be into the mid 70s by mid-day. From there on into the afternoon expect upper 70s and even a few 80s in your backyards.

Men wanted for killing Legare Farms' pig, escaping on boat

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC)- The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for two men who escaped on a boat after killing a pig and attempting to haul it off of Legare Farms property.

On Monday night, a deputy responded to Vardell Legare Lane in reference to animal cruelty.

Helen Floyd-Legare said two men rode up on her property in their boat and shot one of her pigs.

Floyd-Legare said she was working on the farm when she heard a gunshot coming from the water. When she went to investigate, she saw a white boat stuck on a sandbar with two men inside the craft.

According to investigators, when the two men began to flee, Floyd-Legare saw that one of her pigs had been shot in the head.

The victim said the boat then traveled north on the Stono River. Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Expect to see low-flying helicopters and airplanes beginning April 24 as Charleston County Government's Mosquito Control Division take to the sky to spray for the pesky insects.

The aerial spraying for mosquito larvae will begin April 24 between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., and continue on for several days.

The Mosquito Control Division will be spraying all throughout Charleston County.

Morning clouds are proving pesky on Tuesday, keeping the morning temps in the mid to upper 50s but 60s should return my the mid-day hour. This afternoon clouds should break up and we are back to sunshine with temps in the lower 70s. Winds stay more out of the east today, around 10-12mph. This evening looks very mild with temps in the 60s for dinner time.

Charleston Co. Adopt-A-Highway to hold cleanup event May 4

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Charleston County residents are encouraged to come together on May 4 to help keep our highways clean and beautiful.

Charleston County Adopt-A-Highway will hold a litter cleanup on Saturday, May 4. Volunteers can pick up supplies on Wednesday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at S.C. Department of Transportation’s Charleston Maintenance facility located at 2401 Maintenance Way in North Charleston.

Volunteers will spend the day picking up trash along Charleston County highways, so it is important drivers keep an eye out.

“On the cleanup day, drivers are asked to be especially alert and mindful of pedestrians who are working to beautify our surroundings and protect our environment,” said Donna Gueldner, Chairman of Community Pride, Inc. of Charleston County.

In 2012, more than 50,000-pounds of litter was collected form primary and secondary roads, according to Adopt-A-Highway.
