CVS offering $1,000 for info on Johns Island robbery suspects

The suspects enter the store.

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC)- CVS is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to the two men who robbed a Johns Island CVS pharmacist for Oxycontin last week.

According to the Charleston Police Department, the robbery happened just before 10 p.m. at the CVS in the 2800 block of Maybank Highway.

The cashier said two disguised men, one of average height and one shorter, walked in the store and ignored her greeting. She said the shorter suspect headed straight for the pharmacy counter while the taller suspect stood in the second aisle.

The pharmacist told police she was on the phone with a friend when the man standing between 5'3" and 5'6" walked up and held up a piece of white paper. The pharmacist said the only word on the paper she focused on was "Oxycontin" or "Oxycodone." She said she told her friend she was being robbed, and began backing up in fear.

Warm weather continues Friday with plenty of sunshine

Live 5 Meteorologist Chad Watson says the sunshine will continue Friday:

Another good looking day is ahead for the Lowcountry on Friday. Plenty of sun has started us off and temperatures are starting the climb that will take them into the mid 80s later this afternoon. South winds will stay light, around 7-12mph and keep the beaches a bit cooler than those of us inland. This evening a few more clouds come in but the forecast stays dry.

Corporate jets pack Johns Island airport

Corporate Jets at Charleston Executive Airport.

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC)- A number of corporate jets have been spotted at the Charleston Executive Airport, and they appear to be associated with some pretty big names.

Seventeen corporate jets were counted at the Johns Island airport on Thursday around 3:45 p.m.

Tail numbers on the jets indicate one is owned by Challenger Administration LLC, a company founded on behalf of Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

When asked if Gates was in Charleston, a spokesperson with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation said we "would have to speak to the team handling the event," but would not provide any additional information.

Another jet is listed under Jacobs Irwin Mark Trustee. Irwin Mark Jacobs, whose net worth is $1.55 billion according to Forbes, is the former chairman of Qualcomm.

Both corporate jets, along with many others at the airport, are listed as private by Flight Aware, a website that tracks flights.
