Warm weather returns Wednesday with temps in upper 70s

Live 5 Meteorologist Chad Watson says the warm weather is back, with Wednesday temps breaking into the 80s:

Sunshine is back and it will last the next few days so get out and enjoy the return to warmer weather. Highs after a cool start area headed into the upper 70s with a few 80s inland not out of the question. Winds will be light out of the southwest and we are only looking at just a few clouds from time to time.

Keep an umbrella handy for Tuesday showers

Keep an umbrella handy for Tuesday showers

Live 5 Meteorologist Chad Watson has your rainy Tuesday forecast:

Clouds are moving in this morning and some of them will drop showers as you head out the door. With polls open today in some counties on this special election day you may want to take the umbrella with you just incase you get caught under a light shower. Temps will stay in the lower 70s by afternoon on a mild southwest breeze. Some of the heavier showers may turn into a thunderstorm that could drop some small hail thanks to very cold air overhead. rain chances today are solid at 50-60%. Clearing and cool by late tonight into the early morning hours of Wednesday.

Sunshine finally returns

Sunshine finally returns

It the SUN!

Finally some sunshine returns to the Lowcountry as rain and clouds are out of here for a while. Showers ended overnight and a clear sky has returned for the first day of the week. A large area of low pressure to our west will push dry air our way today and that will keep us mostly sunny, dry and mild with highs in the mid 70s.

Have a great Monday!

Chad Watson

Sporadic showers expected throughout the day Friday

Sporadic showers expected throughout the day Friday

Live 5 News Meteorologist Chad Watson says it looks like it will be a wet start to the weekend:

Its going to be another cloudy day with a chance of on and off showers across the Lowcountry. Rain chances today are difficult to pin down. We will hold them around 30% for most backyards but just know showers will pop up just about anywhere at anytime. Highs under the clouds will only reach the lower 70s and gust east winds will blow in off the Atlantic around 15-25mph. That will lead to some coastal flooding at high tide, dangerous rip currents and significant beach erosion. The pattern does not look to change into the weekend so have some indoor plans made....just in case!

Deputies: Gas station shooter arrested with help from witness

Fabian Hernandez. (Source: CCDC)

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC)- A Johns Island man is behind bars following a Wednesday night shooting thanks in part to the quick thinking of a witness, deputies say.

Fabian Hernandez, 25, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

According to court documents, the victim met Hernandez at a Kangaroo Gas Station located at 503 Main Road around 6:50 p.m. to buy drugs.

When the victim pulled out the money Hernandez fired two shots from a .38 caliber revolver, hitting the victim in the left arm. Hernandez then took the money and fled the scene, documents state.

Deputies say a witness inside the gas station heard the first gunshot and ran outside to see Hernandez shoot the victim in his arm. When the suspect got into a green SUV to drive away, the witness took down his South Carolina license plate number.
