Kiawah's Beachwalker park has been named to Dr. Beach's list of the top ten beaches in the country.  The Charleston County park landed in the number 8 spot.  Beachwalker has made the list on 3 other occasions, in 2002, 2008, and 2009.

Another reason to visit Beachwalker this weekend are beach safety demonstrations being offered by the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission on Saturday, May 29th.  Lifeguards will walk people through various aspects of staying safe around the water.

The demonstrations will begin at noon at stand 42.  Topics covered will include:

• 12:00 p.m. – Swim Rescue
• 1:00 p.m. – Stingray & Jellyfish Info
• 2:00 p.m. – Board Rescue
• 3:00 p.m. – Sun Protection
